Home Energy Audits and Infrared Inspections

Phoenix Home Energy Audits & Infrared Thermography

An Energy Audit will provide valuable information about your home. It can show you ways to save money, without breaking the bank. Mike is a “Level One Certified Infrared Thermographer” and we use a Flir T-250 infrared camera. With this state of the art technology we are able to look at the exterior walls and ceilings of your home for missing or poor insulation. We also check the doors and windows for leaks and drafts. You might be surprised where you are losing energy due to missing or improper insulation and poor seals.

We will not spend a lot of time telling you the obvious, e.g. that new appliances or new windows may save you money. This is common sense and may also take a long time to pay for itself. We want to help you decide where you can save on your energy bills now!

Lots of company’s say they will give you a free audit in an attempt to sell you windows, appliances, roofing, etc. What we do is give you specific information about the strengths and weaknesses of your living environment. With this information you can make informed decisions regarding what steps you can take to improve your energy efficiency, decrease your energy usage and reduce your utility bills.

Please call and ask us about an energy audit and what it can provide for you. Custom quotes are available.

Below is some additional information about infrared thermography.

Budget conscious homeowners now have a one-stop solution to reducing energy bills and managing their energy efficiency. We will conduct a thorough energy audit for homeowners looking to save money on rising utility bills. We will determine energy loss problems throughout the interior and exterior of the home's footprint. Thermal imaging equipment is used to reveal energy loss areas, and the efficiency of air-conditioning and heating systems will be evaluated. We will also identify and help you prioritize solutions and make on-the-spot recommendations to improve energy efficiency. Figuring out the energy loss is a key step in solving your energy deficiencies and reducing costs.

Thermography is the use of an infrared imaging and measurement camera to "see" and "measure" thermal energy emitted from an object. Thermal, or infrared energy, is light that is not visible because its wavelength is too long to be detected by the human eye; it's the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we perceive as heat. Unlike visible light, in the infrared world, everything with a temperature above absolute zero emits heat. Even very cold objects, like ice cubes, emit infrared. The higher the object's temperature, the greater the IR radiation emitted. Infrared allows us to see what our eyes cannot. Infrared thermography cameras produce images of invisible infrared or "heat" radiation and provide precise non-contact temperature measurement capabilities. Infrared cameras are an extremely cost-effective, valuable diagnostic tool used in many diverse applications.

Infrared inspection provides a powerful noninvasive method to monitor and diagnose the condition of buildings.  They can quickly identify problem areas that can't be seen by the naked eye - eliminating destructive probing methods.  Results are captured and documented instantly and easily into professional reports - providing tangible proof of our findings.
